Executive Summary about Projection Televisions by Des Smalls

Everyone talks about plasma TVs and LCD TVs, but few talk about DLP Projection Televisions. There are two types of DLP Projection Televisions : the rear-projection set and a screenless projector usually referred to as a DLP front projector.

Because a DLP front projector is in essence a DLP rear projection set without the box, let’s talk about that one first. The great advantage of this sort of DLP Projection Televisions is that you have a picture scaled to whatever size you like. Rear-projection DLP TVs take care of that problem, but at the cost of the great flexibility of the front-projection DLPs. While a DLP Projection Televisions does not approach the contrast value of a plasma television, they are as good as most LCD TVs and are much tougher units.

A rear-projection DLP Projection Televisions is surprisingly slender - not wall-mountable like a plasma or LCD model, but still only a few inches deep. If your television set is destined to get heavy use, a DLP Projection Televisions is much more economical over time than a similar LCD TV. And a plasma TV? The major manufacturers of DLP Projection Televisions right now are Samsung, Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, LG, and RCA. Newer sets also use LED lighting instead of halogen lights.
Executive Summary about Projection Televisions by Tim Gorman

Many people would not have anything other than a Projection Televisions as it adds to the cinema theme as well as giving you a very good image as big as you want. But many others do not want to deal with projectors and screens and would rather have the convenience of a TV style screen that you just turn on and play the DVD in as you would in any other room but on a bigger screen.

As the image is produced through a projected light then it is best to use a Projection Televisions in a fairly dark room. With some of the latest Projection Televisions they have a light sensor so that if the light is too bright for the image then it brightens the light to make it stronger. You also have to set up a Projection Televisions for the movie and put up the screen. There are some really good plasma screens around now and the cost is dropping. Plasmas have an advantage over DLP Projection Televisions if you have a small room, as they did not need any space to project an image.
